EHDU calls fail unless desk phone is present in MDUG
« on: February 17, 2022, 11:38:00 AM »
Got a weird one. MiVoice Business Express running 8.0.2.301. Calls dialed through the auto attendant (NuPoint Callflow) to a user will not display correct calling number data, or ring the EHDU (cell phone) more than 1 ring unless the user's desk phone is present in their MDUG. When desk phone is absent, the NuPoint port DN is displayed as the calling number in MiCollab, the EHDU only rings once, and then the call drops. If the desk phone is present, even if it's unplugged, everything works as it should. No active SWA, so I can't open a ticket with Mitel.

I should note that the PSTN connection is a SIP trunk (Spectrum, local LAN handoff not running through the MBG). If I run a packet capture, the failing EHDU calls are being cancelled by the MiVB.

If you packet capture a call that fails and one that is successful, is the calling number different between the two?

No, the only difference between the calls is if the desk phone is present in the MDUG or not.

If I could send you a 6-pack of your choice, I would. That was the fix.

Just remember that it doesn't survive an upgrade.
