Dear all,

I am trying to set up my lab controller (MXeIII 3300 ICP). I've changed the default password and IP of the system.

I tried to configure the E2T IP address through a telnet to the E2T card (VxWorks) but not succeed. When I log in with Putty using the system IP on port 2007, after the login and password nothing else is displayed.

The expected message ( Press <SPACE><SPACE><SPACE> to stop auto-boot AFTER countdown starts... <7> [VxWorks Boot]: ) is not displayed and any command is working.

If I log in with Putty using the system IP on port 2002, I can see booting process displaying following messages among others:

"E2tProxy<->E2t collocated Communications Channel is UP"

"tTnetE2Td accepting telnet request from 172.30.127.130 on Port 2007"

Can some one help to walk me through the a simplified initial setup.

I've already updated the software from MVB Release 7.0 SP1 (13.0.1.28) to MVB Release 7.1 PR2 (13.1.0.38), but the problem is the same.

Regards,

Due to the fact I described before, I think my DHCP Server is not working.

After configuration I've tried two IP phones 5340e and 5320e and my laptop none of them is picking an IP address from both pools defined in my DHCP IP address.

Can you help please?

Thanks in advance.

Don't take this wrong but did you physically add a 2nd MXe Processor card to the system? The built in E2T (64 channels) are not configurable you have to add an MXe processor card to get to 128 Channels. Did you also add a 128 channel Echo Canceler module?

Hi Ckonrad,

Thanks for your answer. I do not physically add a second MXe processor nor a 128 channel Echo canceler module.

The only hardware modules I have in my lab controller are listed in the joined file.

Well if you don't have an E2T card installed, there's no way you'd be able to connect to it to assign it an IP address. Also, if it were installed it would appar in System Hardware Compute Cards, not Hardware Modules.

OK Lundah, thanks a lot.

So I am going to check why my integrated DHCP server is not working properly, it is giving any IP to my phones.

Thanks again.

What happens when you boot up a phone? How is the LAN port the phone is connected to set up?

When I boot up a phone it is stopping at DHCP Discovery, after a long moment it displays DHCP time out. I think it is not getting the DHCP request reply.

The LAN port is configured as Access with data VLAN 2 and voice VLAN 3 enabled, (I've put the controller's port on a port with the same configuration without success and even connected the controller to a trunk port.

I've put my laptop on the controller's LAN port to see if I can get an IP, but it doesn't work (I did not get an IP in the controller's DHCP subnets).

If you're connecting the LAN 1 port of the controller to the network, the port on the network switch should be configured for ONLY the voice VLAN, untagged.

Thanks very much Lundah. I'll do that and come back to you later.

I am out of my office for two weeks, installing a VSAT system.

Thanks again.
