How to Hide Contacts in Corporate Directory
« on: August 05, 2016, 11:15:21 AM »
We have AD Integration which syncs OK and accounts show up in the MiCollab Client, Corporate Directory > ADdomainname.com.  We have added some non-specific user phones (such as a guest reception phone) that do not have an associated AD account, they are just defined in Mitel.  These accounts show up as contacts at the top of the Contact list in the MiCollab client.  Is there anyway to hide them?  I have checked the Privacy box in the directory (which seems to work for AD defined phones) but not for these.

Corporate Directory
> ADdomainname.com
Guest Reception

Thanks...

From the Admin guide (Page 57 of the latest version - 2.1 SP5):
Quote
The default search uses a filter for (objectCategory=person) and this must be specified for each
entry on the LDAP server to be found by the Conference/Video Phone. This may be changed via
the LDAP Search Filter configuration to any valid RFC4515 string representation of a search filter.

So, while I haven't done it myself, it sounds like you can use the objectCategory field in AD to filter out any non-person entries.

Thank you for the info.  Let me clarify the issue.  I have attached a screenshot.  The AD accounts show up properly when the domain is expanded under the Corporate Directory.  We also have some accounts that were only created in MiCollab without any connection to an AD object.  These show up at the top level of the Corporate Directory and I'd like to be able to hide them from view.  I have tried selecting Privacy in the 3300 Phone Directory and even deleting the entry in the 3300 Phone Directory however they still show up.  I think if I create an AD account and associate with the non-person phone, I may be able to hide it, though I'd prefer not to do it that way.

Thanks...

You can hide them in the MiCollab server under the directory tab. They won't show up globally though

You can include them and just choose not to show company folders in the client. That is what I do, since it shows everyone.

Hi John,

Could you tell me the menu path to get to these settings?

Thanks,
