DEE Dropping Calls

Hello all,

Our DEE seems to drop calls after about 5 to 10 minutes.

Background:
1. We have a dedicated internet connection for the phone system.
2. 8 SIP trunks.
3. 4 Teleworker phones.
4. All DEE extensions are cell phones that do not generally drop calls when called directly.
5. Network is carefully controlled.  Again, we have a dedicated internet connection to the 5000 going through a Linksys VPN small business router.

The only call quality issues we have are to the 4 Teleworker phones, occasional digital glitching and dropped calls.  Has anyone encountered this previously?  If so can you offer suggestions on resolving this?

There is a timeout limit that's set on the system for security/control purposes.  The overall idea is you wouldn't want someone to configure DEE to point to an international number.  If someone called your local number, they'd have a local call, but your system would call internationally and you'd incur the costs.

It is possible to raise the limit on this timer.  With the newer system versions, you can also do a handoff to bring the call back to your desk phone (assuming you're still in the office)

System Timer is called UNSUPERVISED CO.

In regards to garbling, make sure your call configuration is optimized for Remote on the Teleworking phones...not saying you have to use G.729  but the Remote configuration is optimized for Audio Frames per packet, etc.   To keep the better sounding G.711 but optimize for remote, just create a new Call Configuration, copy the Remote onto it, and update the new one to use G.711.   I have used G.729 without much complaint.
