NuPoint Emails to some but not others
« on: October 23, 2014, 09:59:27 AM »
I have about 25 users set up with Advanced UM, but only a few actually receive the voice mail message on their email. I have deleted the users VM and added it back and it still doesn't work. I have added new users and those work. Not sure why it works for some and not others when everyone is set up the same.  :-\ Any assistance would be appreciated. :o

Make sure the FCOS and GCOS is the same. Also verify your SMTP settings and verify the email addresses you're trying to send to can in fact receive mail through the SMTP server you're using.

FCOS & GCOS are all the same, the emails addresses have been verified. I have verified mail server and ldap connections as well.

Just to confirm, you're using Advanced UM so that there is Sync between inbox and NuPoint, correct?

If so, I believe you can take a look at the ldap/current log.

I've had issues where the email address within AD didn't completely match the user's email address and it therefore couldn't associate the two and sync. They had to match exactly in order for sync to work. (In my case, the email address was <firstname><FirstLetterOfLastName>@ but their AD email alias was only <FirstName>.)

yes Im using Advanced UM. Im not entering email addresses in Nupoint just the email alias. Ive checked and everything seems ok. I did once again delete once user and added them again and it started working. Still trying to figure out why some of the current users don't work.

If you look at the users licensed for the UM features under UM Licensing do they show up? If not, are you sure you have enough licenses for all of the users?

You also have to update the licensing after you add or remove UM users.

If the messages are attachments instead of links, I have seen them sometimes get filtered by the email server and not necessarily the voice-mail server.
