Caller ID on second line
« on: May 19, 2008, 12:42:27 PM »
We had a 3300 installed, and we are not getting caller ID on the second line, when we are on the phone.  It just shows PRI Trunks for the Caller ID of the second line.  We used to have a Nortel BCM that gave us the caller ID on the second line. Can someone please help us out, in what setting is not correctly setup.

What type of phones do you have and how are the lines programmed?  Multicall or keysystem or singleline?
I've never been sastified with Mitel's answer for this.  Typically we program unique lines for 1st and second lines and then forward to the second line on a busy condition for external calls.   You don't get caller id that way.  It will show "From XXXX".
(So Mitel, if you are monitoring, how about a DCR for this?)
I think, (not sure and don't have time to test right now) if you program the second line as a multicall, then it will work.
Unfortunantly, I don't think there is a way to show CLID for second line while on a different line if they're not multicall.

You can press superkey and the line that is ringing and it will show you the caller id.

Thanks that helped a lot.  We had caller ID on the lines that were setup as mulitcall, but the phones that are in our ACD are setup in singleline, so this tip works great. thx.

I believe that is for outbound calling.   Allows you to presend different CLID for outbound calling depending on what key you use to call from.

Its for multicall and key appearances it does not apply to rerouted calls on your set.

The only way to do outbound calling id is with the cpn substitution table.

In the COS you assigned for the second line, make sure that the following is set to yes:

'Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines'

the length of time the caller ID show for is determined by the timer in the COS as follows:

'Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines Timer' the default is set to 5 sec.

Hope this helps
