NuPoint Calling an extension
« on: May 15, 2014, 10:19:55 AM »
I have a situation where the NuPoint is calling an extension and I can't figure out the cause.

I took an existing mailbox, deleted it to clear out all the old messages and recreated it.
Maitai for msg wtg.
As far as I can see it's programmed exactly like every other VM box.
The phone was unused so it wasn't plugged in for a while.

Now the VM is calling the phone.  The user answers it but it's just dead air.
I turned on internal SMDR and I can confirm that the VM is calling even though there are no messages in that mailbox.

I haven't been able to correlate the extension with anything in the VM.

The box doesn't have CDR.

I'm looking for some way to trace down what is causing the NuPoint to dial this one extension.
Any suggestions?
The extension is 1010 so I suppose it might be a hack attempt (i.e. 1010288+++) but I can't prove it.

could be anything :)

Do you have any pager line groups set up that might be trying to call this ext when a message is left?

How about running a mailbox report to a file, and searching through for this extension to see where it is programmed (f anywhere).

Mark.

May have found the cause yesterday.
Somehow I had put the msg wtg type in option 2 rather than 1.
Had to have another tech put eyes on it to be able to see it.

The odd part is that after the problem started happening I deleted the box and recreated it.
Can't imagine that I did the same mistake twice.
We'll see.

Had similar issues where Nupoint called a single extension at random times.

Ensure Multiline Set On-hook Dialing is diabled in Nupoint CoS.

Thanks for the input.
I checked the COS and it was indeed enabled.
I disabled.
Now I need to see if the user still complains.

Heya Ralph,
With this Nupoint COS, where is that option toggle located? The one for enable/disable Multiline on hook dialing?

Thanks for your time,
Gene

what version of software are you running?
Editing COS in version 6+ is different than previous versions.
