Incoming Caller ID
« on: March 14, 2014, 09:22:00 PM »
Hello,

I'm having an issue with incoming caller ID not appearing on any phones. The display shows the trunk group number, and "Private". The service is a T1. Is there anything that needs to be done for Caller ID to display on the phones, or does this seem like a carrier issue?

Thanks

Is this a PRI or T1? A PRI is pretty simple. A T1 requires that you know the signaling format, such a *ANI*DNIS*, assuming the carrier is sending anything.

Kgiles,

DND ON is correct in their answer as you not only have to have the T-1 Circuit Type Correct for a T1 [Loop Start, Ground Start, E&M, DID], but you then also have to have the Service Type correct on the individual trunks themselves.

Loop Start - Bellcore FSK Caller ID or ETSI DTMF Caller ID
Ground Start - Does not support Caller ID
E & M - ANI, *ANI*, *ANI*DNIS*
DID - ANI, *ANI*, *ANI*DNIS*

Remember though that ANI is not Caller ID it is Number Only!

Thanks,

TE

I have an analog phone - I have added Bellcore FSK Caller ID to all lines.
They all work except for the newest line (which we just added) -
and if I switch the phone line in the hardware - the caller id works
Where else do I need to look - what am i missing

The caller id reads: TG92003

The setup is:

CO Trunk 92003
94259 = works ok
94264 = does not work (new)

CO Trunk 92002
92460 = works ok

CO Trunk 92004
94261 = works ok
94262 = works ok

(94259 moved from PP011)

Go to SYSTEM/DEVICES/TRUNKS/94264/SERVICE TYPE...choose same SERVICE TYPE as on trunks that work.
