5360 settings from MCD
« on: July 08, 2013, 05:27:11 PM »
Hi guys, I am looking for a way to set/hardcode/grey out some user settings on the 5360. For example can you enable pc connectivity from the MCD? Set the text size etc etc....?

There's nothing in the PBX that allows you to do that.

There is no way to grey out settings. Not sure what you mean by PC connectivity. If you mean the port on the back of the phone for a PC then you can enable/disable in COS.

Hi, the pc connectivity allows UCA to pass speedcall presence to the hand set.
We are trying to get all 40 5360's settings the same, eg, text size, screen saver timeout, message button etc etc. config and forget!!

To my knowledge it is not possible from the 3300 side, those are local configuration settings stored in the set itself.

I am pretty sure that the pc connectivity you are referring to is to enable/disable the PC port on the back of the phone which is a COS option. The HCI options allow the UCA integration if I am correct.

The setting on the 5360 menu that i am talking about, enables or disables the phone from talking to your PC. the COS function is to stop the PC port on the back. When i disable the PC Connectivity settings in the menu the presence information stops. When you enable it, it has an IP address and Password, the IP address is the IP of the phone:

To obtain the IP address for your 53xx IP desk phone:
On your desk phone, press the Menu key ().

Press the Settings softkey.

Press the PC Connectivity softkey.

Make note of your phone's IP address. The IP address is displayed under IP Address for PC.

NOTE: Contact your administrator for your phone's IP address if it is not displayed.

Select the Enable option to enable the phone password.

Press the Save softkey.

Press the Close softkey.

This sounds like how you configure Navigator software... You enable the PC Connectivity on the set, then set a Username and Password, and enter the IP address/Username/Password into the software. Not that it is really relevant to the OP's question, but just struck me and it might give someone some insight.

Well I think the original question was answered already i.e you can't change or grey out the settings found in the menu of the 5360 set.
