Changing & Inserting Greeting - 3300
« on: May 26, 2009, 11:27:31 AM »
Hi Guys,

We play an out of hours greeting message to customers and I need to get this message changed. Can you advise on how to achieve this and tell me what forms to use.

I simply need to record a new message and replace the existing message. Any help will be welcomed.

I'm currently using v7.1.15

I will assume that you are using the standard Day/Night greetings.
Log into the admin mailbox 999 or 9999.   Listen to the prompts (Never press 1 here because you may delete your whole VM system)   One of the options is to change greetings.    Pretty straight forward from there.

Check the greetings assignment form first to make sure which greetings are being played so you know which to change.  ;D

And all of this depends - it is not uncommon that I use a "general" VM box for certain types of greetings.   You may have to review the call flow....

Hi mate, you can change the greetings by ftp ing into the 3300 ( via file zilla or similar programme). username and passwords are the same as the gui interface.
go to directory /vmail/c/vm/prompts/englishuk in here you will find files pday this is the main greeting and pnight this is the night greeting.
These files can then be transfered edited or renamed on the 3300 and a new file uploaded. Must be .vox

hope this helps

Russell103,
Interesting note.  Good input.    Thanks.

I didn't know that and I have some more questions:
Is this the recorded greetings or system defaults?
Is the format still u-Law 8 bit mono or something else?
Can you just rename a .wav to a .vox or do you have to save in a specific format?
Is there a way to change the default system prompts i.e. "Please enter your password'?

Hello again
1.  PDAY and PNIGHT are the recorded greetings
2.  The format is still the same
3.  You have to save the file as .vox
4.  Never tried the looking at the system prompts but the filoder marked int is for mail boxes. You should see int then the mailbox number (e.g. int234)

Hope this helps.
