911 routing
« on: March 04, 2009, 05:17:08 PM »
Does anyone know how CLID shows up at a 911 center if you use CPN sub on a PRI?

Say I have a controller at a main office and a couple of satellite offices nearby with different addresses. I have CPN sub to show the DID associated with the physical location, will this be how it shows up to the 911 center or would the LIM and an analog trunk at the physical address be the best route?

Just an idea I have been throwing around in my head, not an actual setup yet.

If you use CPN sub it should show the CPN sub you put it as long as the carrier isn't overiding.

Better to use CESID.

A LIM would be fine as long as you can guarantee it works.  Been there, done that: not with LIM but as an analog port off a remote controller.   The line is never used excpet for 911 so if it goes dead at DMARC you don't know.  Then you can't get out.
