Audio Problems with Mitel 5610
« on: January 27, 2012, 05:56:37 AM »
Hello All

I have a 5610 handset linked to a 5312 with DECT stand, the problem I have is this; When I call the person on the other end experiences their earpiece cutting out as they speak, this only happens when they speak to me on the 5610. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

We have just rolled out 100+ of these handsets for a customer across multiple sites and have experienced the same issue. The handsets appear to be operating in a kind of half duplex mode. When ever you speak the earpiece speaker turns off for what I can only guess is an attempt to reduce/remove echo. Like wise when the remote party speaks your microphone is tuned off so to them it sounds like you are being cut off. This is particularly bad when you have some background noise on either end because the 5610 handset is constantly turning the microphone and earpiece speaker off and on.  :o

We have logged a ticket with Mitel but have not heard anything back yet. I will keep you posted.
