Dial Extension > Dial External Number
« on: November 21, 2011, 01:56:39 PM »
I want to be able to dial a 5 digit extension that translates to an external phone number.

We have an office with a group of DID's...so if I dial 37XXX, I want it to dial 91ZZZ-ZZ3-7XXX

Z's are static...X's in the 37XXX will change, but the 37 is static.

This should be pretty simple.
Edit the System Speed Call Assignment form.
Use the 37xxx number as the speed dial and 91<number> as the actual.
Be sure to tick the "Over ride toll restriction" box.

There may be some things that may stop this from working but this is generally how it's done.

But that would mean I'd have to enter in all 200 entries.  Isn't there a way that I can prepend the number when I enter in 37XXX?  Can ARS do this?

I'm going to try to import the list in and see if that works.

There is a way to do this through ARS.   Not easy though.
You have to build a special route so that when you dial it inserts 1ZZZ-ZZ3-7XXX.
It would only take a few minutes for someone that really knew their way around ARS.
But I think you may be on to something with the import.
