9.0 UR1
« on: December 05, 2008, 03:39:52 PM »
Has anyone installed the massive two cd 9.0 UR1?

I downloaded it today and just want to know if the SI is faster than the first rel of 9.0 (over 3 hours is insane).

Three hours seems a bit much.

Do you have a large embedded voicemail?

I wouldn't consider it large no.

I have attempted to upgrade from 9.0.0.41 to 9.0.1.17 and seem to have a few issues, first of all being that the SI wants a new password and I cannot give it one.

I have an email in to someone at tech support.

Will update later.

Have you tried installing via VxWorks terminal? its much faster than SI. Ensure proper backup is done before doing so.
Check your THB on doing the install via VxWorks

The manual procress is much faster, but when you have multiple sites (35) it isn't very practical.

Tech support gave me a patch to try but no luck, does anyone else have a spare 3300 that is running 9.0.0.41 that they could upgrade to 9.0.1.17? I just want to know if my case is an isolated case or if something is wrong with the SI.

I don't want to attempt this on a customer's equipment.

Nothing major really changed (that works at least). Do you have access to MOL?

  I don't think I know how Mitel versions work.  Am I right in that 9 UR1 is not the same as 9.1?  I ask as I have a 9 UR1 install and couldn't find a way to set it up as an NTP client......

UR1 =  Update Release 1
PR1 = Patch Release 1

  Mattmayn,

  I did the upgrade manually from 9.0.0.41 to 9.0.1.17 with no issues.  Was pressed for time so didn't use the tool....

I don't believe you need a new password, if staying within the 9. something (ie you would need one, if you went from 8.? to 9.?).  You should be able to uncheck the box that ask to do the license options, and it won't ask for a password.  Or, put in the old / current password.  Have had a few failures with SI tool, and a couple times required the manual procedure to get it back running, as it was dead!  I realize that remote management is nice, but if it fails, someone may need to go there ASAP!

I tried unchecking that box, it still failed. I don't know what the issue is. At this point it is more pain than it is worth so I'll keep the sites I have at 9.0.0.41 there for the time being.
