Chosing a trunk for FCT
« on: March 23, 2011, 05:52:08 AM »
Hi to all,

In order direct the calls to the cell phone , I configured 3300 CX correctly using analog trunks but I want the calls to be transmitted via FCT device,so how can I say the controller that when you direct the calls to the cell phone, use this analog trunk number which was connected to FCT ?

Does the FCT device connect via ONS or LS trunk ports?

I'm actually wondering the same thing Ralph. My brief google search showed multiple devies out there that looked to be used as either Cellular trunks for backup, or some kind of least-cost routing device.

Ralph,I have not known yet the brand name of the device,we will go to the office and learn.
Does it depend on the name of the FCT ?

bluewhite4,regarding the connection we can only use LS since ONS is used for extensions, incoming calls...

Emrah,
I don't know what FCT means.   Is it a phone?   Or a Fax Server?   or something else?

Fixed Cellular Telephone,it is a device decreasing the bill of outgoing GSM calls. When you call via FCT,you pay less comparing normal telecom line.

I assume that this device is connected to a trunk and that you are only dialing a single or limited set of numbers that go across this route.

That being said it would be best if you setup a new trunk group with only this device in it, built a new ARS route that uses only this trunk group and setup the digits dialed to point at this route. If you need availability over cost build a list and put it first with your other trunks second so if it is unavailable you can still call out.

Did I do a somewhat decent job at explaining this?

Agreed just a matter of building ARS to route the calls by digits dialed to the correct TG.

Yep - thanks Matt - Route lists are key here.
