Unknown Extension
« on: March 03, 2025, 05:59:24 AM »
Hello All,

I'm new here to this forum. I have a 6920 IP Phone, which a user has pointed out to me has the incorrect extension number diaplyed on the top banner beside the network symbol (all my phones are hard wired). The extension of the phone in question is 5009, this is it's extension and I can see it under users and devices and it's linked to the correct location and the MAC address matches the MAC of phone itself. This is definitely the phone. However on the top banner on the phone the number 2019 is displayed. I have no idea what this is, where it comes from or what it's relationship to extension 5009 is. If I phone 2019 from any handset the phone 5009 rings and only 5009 rings. If I phone 5009 from any extension, then the handset for 5009 ring and only 5009 rings. When I phone an extension from 5009 I see on the display I am getting an incoming call from 5009.
I am mystified by the incorrect number on the display - 2019.
It's not a ring group or a pick up group, I have no idea what it can be. Ther is no extension 2019 under my users and services configuration. Any ideas?

System Response is as follows -

The number refers to a Suite.

Looked up that suite number and it has a single member which is extension 5009. I hadn't even considered to check under suites, and I'm surprised that feature is even being used in this particular operation.

Thanks for the info.
