Display DNIS digits while ringing

I have a customer who wants their DNIS digits for DID to display on the phones that ring on that number (ring group) so they know it's a call on that number. I copied the existing COS to a new one and applied to those 6 sets and changed "Display ANI/ISDN Calling Number Only" to disabled thinking that would display the DNIS digits before the call is answered, but it still just shows the Caller ID information in the display of all the phones.

What am I missing to make it just show the DNIS until the call is answered, then show the Caller ID/ANI? This is on a PRI with 53xx sets.

What version? If version 8 there is a Kb. You will have this behavior only for 52xx and 53xx. Not 69xx

7.1, but I would think an answer for 8 would apply as well - And it is only 5300 series phones, this customer doesn't have any 6900 series phones (obviously)

Try to modify the cos for the trunk also

I did this or something similar and ended up having to put a button on phones for the ring group as well as cos changes before external name number was gone

Nothing seemed to work... I wound up just removing the ring group and putting a Multicall key on each of the phones. Turned out to be a better solution for them anyway as they wanted 2 of the phones to delay ring, so in the end it turned out better than what we were initially trying to do.
