Forced Verified Account Codes - Query
« on: January 27, 2020, 11:45:47 AM »
Hi all,

Quick query regarding the use of account codes. Does anyone know if there is a way you can control the outgoing CPN by the specific account code you are using to dial out?

Thanks

No.  You can't control what CPN is being sent when using account codes.
Account codes will only change the COS and COR.

However, having said that, there is a way to do it using AAN and a loop back trunk.
That's beyond what I can try to explain here.  It's cumbersum and a real pain to program up but technically it's doable with some advanced skills.

Understood, thanks for your reply Ralph. Bit disappointing as it would be a nice feature!

I should have mentioned this yesterday.
This is something we normally do with lines on a device.  Each line would have it's own unique caller ID.
Is that something that would work for you?

I think I know what you're getting at, using single lines on the phones which then have an associated CPN for outbound calling.

Unfortunately in this case were talking about a client which represents about 50-60 different companies when making outbound calls so keys wouldn't be an option.

Thanks

I can think of only one way to do what you're asking so if you're willing to take the time to dig into how to program it, this is how I think it could be done:
Program a loop back trunk.   Create a special route for it that uses a special digit mod.  The digit mod is where the magic happens.  You'll use AAN (advanced analog networking) to change the caller ID.  This is the part you'll need to study up on.  You'll set up the AAN to insert the account code as it's caller ID.
The user experience would be like this:  <FAC><UP to 12 Digits Account code><hears dial tone><dials 9 for outside line><number being dialed>
I'm not sure how much of this could be sped up with speed dials.

Thanks Ralph, i'll definitely have a look into that, that sounds more preferable to what I was thinking..

The only other way I thought I might be able to achieve this would be to create a separate SIP peer profile for each customer name, all using the same outbount trunk. On the SIP peer profile you can control the default outbound CPN which could be the number of the company your representing. Then creating an ARS route using the specific peer profile for that customer and leading digit plan for each. This way seems like it could get a bit messy though with all the digits dialled and ARS route entries required.

Very good idea!
I think I'd actually prefer that if you're limited to calling only a set of defined numbers.
That way you wouldn't put a burden on your users to look up and enter the code.
It would all be controlled via the ARS route.
It would be fairly easy to import everything via CSV files.
