Return Authorization
« on: August 16, 2019, 06:27:27 AM »
Hi, I am a new user. The business I work for just bought a Mitel 5000 HX with 8 5340e handsets. The handsets have a number on the sticker, eg 5600994103RA and a Date Code of 2013 46. I think we have been sold a refurbished unit by the dealer. Does the RA at the end of that number mean Return Authorization. any help anyone can give me would be very much appreciated.

I don't think so as all of our 5330/5340 units have the same markings, and we are a dealer.   Pulled a brand new on out of the box, and it has the RA designation.

That being said, the date code gives you some manufacturing info.  Im not saying it si used/refurbed, it could be aged new stock.

Factory (Mitel) refurbished devices have a .1 at the end of the part number... for example a refurbished/repaired Mitel 5340e set would have a part number of 50006478.1 if it was repaired/refurbished by Mitel. If done by a third party there is no standard. I believe this is only indicated on the box, the device itself will have a new sticker with a new date code.
