Set up limited user rights to the 9999 login
« on: December 03, 2018, 04:38:36 PM »
The building administrator wants access to the 9999 login, so she can change the main phone line recorded message (in case of snow days, unexpected closings, etc.) I'm afraid she will log in and wipe out what we have set up. Is it possible to set up a limited role, so she can just add a temporary greeting?

Thank you,

Scott

There are 3 different levels of access to the embedded voicemail, Technician, Manager, and Admin... Just set the Manager password and give it to them, only the Technician level can "Delete this installation and begin a new one" . The embedded help can explain the difference between the different logins.

I tried all three logins, all three had the same message: "Delete this installation and begin a new one".

Yes, it plays the message, but if you press 1 it will say "Invalid Selection"... I just tested it with my bench system logged in as Manager, but Admin and Technician can default the voice mail.

Oh, and on a good note... If you hang-up right away it doesn't blow the embedded VM away like it used to, at least not on 9.0

Thank you, acejavelin!

If I pressed 1, do I get a confirmation message, asking if I really want to complete the action?

Then you are not logged in as Manager... Admin and Technician have that privilege only, make sure each password is different.
