Night mode from external
« on: October 01, 2010, 02:14:56 AM »
All,
This is driving me a bit nuts as i know i should be able to find the solution but i cant  ???
I need to be able to activate Night2 when not on site. The normal access code is #1#2 for night2. Sometimes the last person out forgets to activate the Night2 and needs to activate via DDi etc rather than returning to the office.
Can anyopne point me in the right direction.
CHeers

You could do it via command line but I doubt that's what you're looking for.
You could also do a scheduled day/night depending on your software load.   That's under the "Scheduler" form.
Or you can set up a DISA (Not recommended for security reasons) that would allow you do dial the code.

Could you assign a DID to a speed call that would do it for you? Dial the DID that would hit the speed call that would be dialing the FAC plus the number for the service you want it to be in? I assume this would work since it is the external version of what I do when people are too lazy to do more than push a single button to change the service mode.

I don't think so but it's one of those things that I'd say "try it".  Wont hurt.

Just remember, you assign a DID number to a feature code and your likely to have people screwing with you.   You'd end up with your system going in night mode suggesting you're closed and a CEO that's really getting P.O.'d

I think I've tried the speed dial to access code in the past and it didn't work. We've been kicking around the DISA idea, especially since we have customers who want to remotely activate call forwarding...

Just remember that any good security person will scream at the thought of DISA.   It's a pretty big security hole.
At least be sure everything is locked down.
