Call forwarding and voicemail
« on: May 17, 2017, 09:27:27 AM »
Hello,

Been reading this forum for tips for many years and finally got round to joining!

I'm scratching my head trying to work out the following scenario on a mitel 3300:

Phone 1 forwards to phone 2 using 'call forwarding - follow me' (works fine)

User of phone 2 goes away from their desk and forwards phone 2 to voicemail.

A call to phone 1 then goes to phone 1's voicemail rather than phone 2's voicemail, but I want it to go to phone 2's voicemail?!! Is this possible?

Phone 2 has its 1st alternative set to a hunt group and second alt to voicemail

Hope this is enough info,

Thanks

This is done by design.

Imagine you were calling from outside to Bob who has forwarded his phone to Mary.
If you were to drop into Mary's mailbox you would get confused because you just thought you called Bob and want to leave a message for him, not Mary.

You can break the integration using ACD paths or Name Tag HG.

Are you just needing this for 2 users or will it be for more.

I'm also assuming you are using the embedded voicemail.

Yep that makes sense.

I'm not brilliant with name tag HG's, are you suggesting that I create a name tag HG for Marys extension, and set that as her first/second alternative?

Multiple people forward their extension to Mary when they are out of the office, all the same way as Bob.

And yep its embedded voicemail,

Thanks for the quick response
