Installing 6920 IP phones

Ok so exciting day

Got our first 6920 at work and plugged it in to the lan and up it comes but it gets all the way through then stops on contacting server 0.0.0.0

Bypassed the above by enterering static ip for call server but cant do that for full roleout

Also i cant administer it once its a locked device and when i login as hot desk user i cant access advanced settings

DHCP should work fine, just weird. I would do a network trace to see how DHCP is being handled.

In terms of the Advanced options then the phone guide indicates that these are not accessible by the user.

DHCP Option 43 is needed for these phones to work option 125 isn't sufficient found good link to input it here

You can gain advanced options access before the phone is registered but as soon as register its disabled which is a bit of a pain if you need to change anything

Currently planning a roll-out which will involve 6900-series handsets and will be very interested in Mitel's take on Saltrock's claim that Option125 doesn't work.
 
I don't want the design we give the customer to contain references to Option125 if it's not going to work.

I believe they should handle Option 125

The only spec in the help files state.

I have these phones working fine with option 125, My DHCP is supplied by MSL as its virtual, I have at least one of each model so no problems there. Also use LLDP for VLAN info.

If you mean advanced settings on the handset ie click setting button then advanced, you will need to create a password in the MCD under the Security Form for this option to work.

It seems that CDP is a problem with the 1.0 firmware version of these handsets. Disabling CDP and enabling LLDP allows them to work. Guessing that there might need to be a fix for this fairly quickly!
