Setting up analog Stinger/Ringer
« on: November 09, 2016, 02:59:54 PM »
Hi,

I am trying to setup an analog Stinger 90 model 196. I created them on an "On Premises Line" but the stinger wont ring. I dont know if its a configuration settings that I am missing. I tried calling the extension I gave it and if I hook up an analog phone it rings but not the stinger. Thanks!

I have used these before with no issues... can't remember if I had to set it for standard ringing in COS or not though. They operate on 40Vac-130Vac ringing, so the ONS ports should work fine, if a standard phone rings, the Stinger should ring.

Try connecting it to standard telco line and see if it works.

tried what you suggested to hook it up on a standard telco line and no dice, would that mean I have a dead stinger?

Yes, I would say the ringer is defective.
