Did you program them as DSS/BLF keys in the administration portal? Users cannot add DSS keys directly.

Login to the web portal as an administrator, go to that user/extension and add the PKM in Device Details, and then go to the key programming and add the DSS/Busy Lamp keys for the extensions as needed on the appropriate key numbers.

the extensions are already programmed as user speedcalls. Could i just change them? what would happen then?

Apologies if this is a dumb a question as i think it is.

Speed dial buttons do not light up.
You'd have to delete and reprogram as DSS/BLF.

Ring = standard ring.  Bleeps once if on the phone
No Ring = don't ring.  Flash only
Delay ring = flash for 10 seconds then ring
Ring cont = Rings continuously even if you're on the phone.
Delay Ring Cont = Flash for 10 seconds then ring continuously

That means the phone you are monitoring is in some type of state other than idle.
