Fax on single line port through pri
« on: September 08, 2016, 10:37:08 AM »
I have a 3300 running version 6.0. On the fax it disconnects on a long distance send. It receives without issue. We have checked the cor and it is programmed just like others and cos also. We have swapped plids and also the machine and it still happens. I think its a telco issue but wanted to post here for you ideas.

As always thankyou and your help is awesome!

Can you connect an analog phone to the port and place an LD call?

Did you build a special COS for the fax so there is no camp-on tone, has security and all that stuff? I have seen people have intermittent issues with faxing in the past, often related to camp-on tone.

I might start looking at the LD carrier.  It's possible they may be routing you over a SIP trunk using compression.
That would break a fax call.
Are your local fax calls going over the same trunks as the LD calls?
