Call Foward Problem
« on: July 07, 2016, 12:35:06 PM »
We have a call flow set up for an extension that forwards to another extension.  If you call the destination extension directly, call forwarding on that set works fine for both internal and external calls.  If you call the initial extension that forwards to it, call forwarding isn't applied at all.  Is this the expected behavior because of the call flow, or can I make the forwarding work for both extensions?

Thank you!

If I understand you correctly then yes, it is expected.
A rule of thumb here:  You can't reroute a rerouted call.

The way to make this work is to forward the phones at the station level either via the phone menus or FACs.

I'm trying to figure out what the initial extension is for and why it's different than the destination, but there's no phone associated, so they can't just set forwarding.  Is there a way to enable forwarding from a remote set, maybe?  I've inherited the phone system from the guy who inherited the phone system from the guy that helped set it up initially and a lot has been lost in translation, so sorry if this is easy stuff!

In maintenance you can enter "loc num <num>"

That will help you find where the extension is.
To answer your q: yes, you can do a remote call forward.
Look for the for "Call Forwarding Profile"
You can forward the extensions from there.
