HotDesk User - setup

Using Mxe MCD 4.1 with 5360 ip phones, need to setup hotdesk user.My first step was to assign feature codes for Hotdesk login/out but when I do the log in it says step 1.*= log in,step 2.enter extn#,step3.enter pin number, step4.extn is not a hotdesk user then try again.
Under IP config my phones have been programmed as Hotdesk user No.
Changing to Hotdesk user Yes changes the device type to 5005ip & the phones go down.
How do I programme the Hotdesk user to work?

A hot desk user will not have a device type. No MAC address either. You have to setup your phones with basic ext and your user will have the real ext.

Basically you are going to have 2 times the number of actual devices, but the hot desk ones are not going to be actual devices. Does that make sense.

You have to enable the COS settings on the ext that will be "hosting" the hot desk user. The ext that is the "user" will need to be a hotdesk set to yes.

Hope this helps. I can go thru all the specifics, but I think you have it almost figured out.
