Perl packager PAR-Packer is not playing nicely. Dag doesn't have it in his repository and it isn't compiling nicely. Will have to play around with this some more.
Can you tell me where the default webpage for this server is located? I would like to simply upload my websites to it for testing rather than learn the ibay right now just to make sure things work properly.

johnp,
Are you ready to be a guinea pig? :) See the attached zip file. Inside are all the files that I needed to get SimpleAlarm running on a SME server. I know it is not a ibay but I have not had time to investigate that as yet. See if you can follow the readme.txt file and get it running on your server.

I was looking over the readme and I know sme creates a mysql password for the root user. It can be found, just have to look it's location again. What would need to be done differently?

I'm sure if it can run in the Primary location. it should also run in an ibay. Ibays allow for a higher level of configuration but are generally accessible via http://localhost/ibayname or alternately a FQDN can be setup via hosts that points directly to that location.

After looking closer, I see the mysql command only sets up a new user, database and password for that user.

Just started testing and it looks good so far. I haven't fully got my config setup for the email, I was hoping to use the localhost as a smart sender and have asked the possibility with Gerry.

Yes it runs in the Primary as well as an ibay. I also have yet to setup a cron job but just ruuning the script manually inbetween an no alarm and an alarm state responded as described for the most part. You do need to click on the pbx name for historical info.

Pretty much done with my testing and from what I see, this can be beneficial for those who like to store historical records. I did set it up on a SME server ibay that was open to internal and required password from the internet and it worked as expected. I setup up alarms.mydomin.com as a domain on the server that went to the ibay. The alarm discovery email wasn't working until I changed to use the sme qmail to send.

I think my testing was thorough and found some nice behavior for a admin user. All in all, give a good graphical represntation of alarm status with notification.

Now to look closer at the SimpleSmdr.
