Changing System Administrator Mailbox
« on: January 19, 2015, 12:48:08 AM »
Hi,

Running MCD 5.0 SP2 I'm unable to change the system mailbox number. Basically the end user has managed to change the mailbox number from 999 to 99999 through logging in with the admin mailbox password instead of the manager password. I've attempted to change the mailbox number back through MCD however it doesn't allow me to make changes to the admin mailbox. I've also dialled in and used the manager, admin and tech pass codes to attempt to change it via the IVR (through option 2) however it says the system isn't set-up to perform this task.

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

It sounds like they have logged in as admin and pressed 1 for initial setup where you set the mailbox length.
You will need to change it back to 3 digits.

Option 2 is to edit mailboxes and you need to enable TUI access through the "Voice Mail/System Settings/VM Options" form

Hi Sarond,

Thanks for getting back to me so quick. So that worked to a degree, let me get into the option to edit the mailbox. Upon entering mailbox "99999" it says the mailbox is invalid, yet in MCD the mailbox extension is 99999. Any ideas?

Cheers

You don't edit the admin mailbox, only other users.
To set the number of digits you need to login as 99999 with the admin passcode as set in the form mention above.

Once you login you can press 1 for new installation and set the number of digits mailbox will have, you should set this to the same as the extensions.

You don't have to go through the whole process, just set the number of digits.
