Using a 2nd Auto-Attendant on 3300
« on: October 03, 2014, 08:58:37 AM »
Hi All

Looking for some advice.  We have a mitel 3300 system here thats been set up by BT.  I have had previous experience with PBX systems so was hoping to be able to achieve what we wanted here, but it is somewhat confusing.

We currently have calls arriving at the system which are then presented with the auto-attendant to direct them to 1 for sales, 2 for service etc etc.  When the user clicks either of these options it goes to a ring group.

What we would like to do is add another voice attendant (with different options and voice) which directs calls to other ring groups within the same building.

Is this possible??

I have created an alternative voice greeting, but here is where my understanding of the logic falls short as I cant figure out how to direct the calls coming in on a different number to the correct voice prompt and therefore correct ring groups.

A schematic of call routing would be great here so I can follow the logic, if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Note: neither of these voice attendants are multi-level

Thanks

Tony

Set up a menu node mailbox with the desired number, set up mailboxes for the menu options, then re-route calls to the DN that matches the menu node mailbox number in the PBX to the voice mail hunt group.

For example, if your second number is 1500: create a Menu Node mailbox 1500, set up your mailboxes for the menu options, then in the 3300 create a Hunt Group 1500, and Always ReRoute it to the voice mail hunt group.

****Ludah beat me to the punch and posted while I was writing.   Here's my input anyhow.

Yes.  You can do that but with some limitations.

Create a phantom extension that you will forward to VM.  i.e. 5555.
Create a Menu Node mailbox of 5555.
This will be your main menu.
Next, create a menu node mailbox for each of your options.   5556 = sales,  5557 = service.
Next under Multi-level Auto Attendants change the one for 5555 and add in under the options 5556 & 5557.

You'll need to log into each of the new mailboxes and record greetings.   5555 = "Press 1 for Sales,  press 2 for Service".  5556 & 5557 = "Please hold"

I said there were some limitations.   They are: you cannot dial anything other than what's in the list.   You do not have access to the TelDir.

Thanks, both, for the answers.... I think I understand.  The limitation with the teldir is a bummer, as would like it to come up on the staffs phones who the call is being directed from, ie compan A sales, or company B service etc.

My take is thats not possible if the teldir is unavailable?

When I say Teldir is not available I mean that the caller cannot look up extension numbers.
When they press 1 or 2, the name that shows up will be the hunt group that 1 or 2 corresponds to.

Ah ok thanks.

Well have just tried it but am confident I have not done this correctly, but the best way to learn is to try.

1/ I have created 3 extensions, 400, 401 & 402 all with mailboxes.

2/ Gone into VM Mailboxes and set them all as Nodes

3/ Gone into VM Multi-Level Auto Attendants, edited extension 400 and added option 1 as 401 and option 2 as 402

4/ Logged into the mailbox for 400 and recorded a message saying press 1 for sales and press 2 for service

5/ logged into 401 and 402 mailboxes and recorded a "please hold" message

6/ Gone into System Speed Calls and diverted the number coming in (previously coming in on ext 524 and going out to a mobile number) to then go to extension 400

When I dial our number it rings once then says "the person you are calling has hung up".

Clearly done something wrong, can you direct me please?

I may have been wrong about mailboxes 401 & 402.  I think they should be xfer mailboxes.

Having said that, do extensions 401 and 402 exist as extensions in the 3300?

Hi Ralph

They exist as users (user and device configuration), but ideally will want these forwarded on to ring groups.

I have changed the 401 and 402 mailboxes to transfer only

Ok, this seemed to work just now when I changed the settings in call re-routing.  I changed 400 for day and night from 1 to 3 and this then gave me the options for 1 for sales and 2 for service when I called.  unfortunately when I selected either of these 2 nothing happened so somewhere I need to tell it that 401 rings one group and 402 rings another group..
