uploading Music on Hold problem
« on: July 17, 2009, 03:10:18 PM »
I am using the System Audio Files Update page to upload a WAV file.  the file is in my root of my C dirve and is named HOLD.WAV (it is in the correct uLaw format)
When I click on UPDATE button I get the following message "a valid filename and path must be provided."

I tried rolling back to an older version of Java but nothing worked.  This is the only computer I can access the mitel 3300 from due to subnet issues.

I tried a number of browsers IE7, Avant, IE8...

any ideas?

thanks!

We talked real time about this earlier.   I suspect that there is something going on with that PC but what I've no clue.
Do you have a lap top that can be plugged into that subnet temp?    Worse case, I can send a tech out to assistf you like.

ok, it uploaded from a laptop.. who knows why, but it worked. thanks!

Is there a way to choose to play one of the other Audio Sources rather than 0 for the MOH?

I'd like to be able to record a temporary informational message relating to something topical then switch back after a week or whatever.

thanks again!

I know this is an old topic, but I figured I would keep it going a little.

I am getting a similar error. I am connecting to the Mitel Communications Director (3300) from several computers on the same LAN as the MCD. I go to the system audio files update form. Select Music and Alternate Source. I browse to the file. (I have tried saving it to different locations and different names) Click on update and then I get FTP Error - Access problem. verify that the local path is valid.

Same thing from different computers on the same LAN, from VPN connection.

To Mayerfeld: Is this the same thing that you were getting?

I ran into this the other day with a spreadsheet

make a directory in the root of your C drive called fakepath

c:\fakepath

put your audio file in that directory and try to upload it that way.

What does "fakepath" have to do with it?

I have no idea.... when the spreadsheets failed on the upload the error I saw was something like could not find fakepath or something like that.

I am getting the same thing. Part of the error says "c:\fakepath"

I was able to upload the audio file. I had to do it from a system on the same vlan as that 3300/MCD. I have not tried it again from any of the original system that I did before. I guess you just have to be either on the same physical switch or the same vlan to be able to do this. Not quite sure...

That is what worked for me. Thanks for the input.

I was only able to do it from a different computer. I decided the problem was some conflict with the Java on that computer.

after experiencing this issue myself - i foudn that i needed to add the Mitel IP address to your browser's "trusted sites" list.

to do this :

 - in IE, select Tools, Internet options
 - Click the "security" tab
 - select "trusted sites"
 - select "sites" button
 - enter the Mitel IP address if it's not there already (i.e. https://192.168.1.2)
 - select "Add"

exit out of all of your dialog boxes, log out of the mitel system and shut down all IE windows. Once you log back in, you should be able to upload the file.

this worked for me.
