DID Programming
« on: August 07, 2014, 10:54:01 AM »
3300 MXe 2-Clustered Rel 4.2 / 10.2.0.26_2  EMB-VM 6-SX200 10-ASU  PRIs

I am working on this system, I did not do all the original setup. And I have not set up DIDs.

It has a block of 100 DIDs now. xxx-2100  and we got a new block xxx-3300. We have a lot of 3300 extensions already in place. How do I add this 2nd block and have it substitute the 3300 to 2200 ? What forms should I be looking at ?

Your help is always greatly appreciated.

You've got a problem.
There isn't a form in your version of software that can say "take DID 3000 and ring ext 5000".   Since you already have 3xxx numbers programmed you can't change the routing.

There are some options.
1) upgrade to version 7.0   There is a new feature that allows you to do this.  I haven't used it but I've seen the doc that says it can.
2) On the incoming PRI, absorb the 3 and add a different number.   This means you have to use system speed dials to route all DIDs to the extensions.
3) Get a non-conflicting block of DIDs from your carrier.

Ralph,

So I just want to understand this correctly.

If I did not have 33xx extensions in my system, then I could make substitutions for the DIDs and have them go from 33xx to 22xx's ?

You could also change the Trunk Attributes of the PRI/SIP trunks to do digit modification so that your incoming DID range no longer directly matches to your extension numbers. That way you could then used System Speed Dials to direct DID's to extensions.

I would do as bluewhite4 says. Export the current speed calls, add the new modified values, upload then change the Trunk Service. Something like 9* should work

Also, the new DID table in 7 is a nice improvement

Export the current speed calls,

That assumes that's how the DIDs are being handled.   If the digits of the extension match the DID then you'd have to convert to modifying the incoming digits and then using system speed dials.   That may be the easiest, actually, depending on how many you have.   It may be better to upgrade to ver 7.0 and use the new built in functionality.
