Mitel 5000 Private IP network tandem for LD Calls
« on: February 11, 2014, 03:08:30 PM »
We are setting up a system of three 6.0 5000s with IP networking. One controller (# 1) has a PRI (92001) and the other two controllers have a couple of analogs trunks apiece. I am wanting to tandem controllers 2 and 3 to access the PRI on controller 1.

The IP network is set up and working fine with all devices able to import/export.

Any ideas?

thanks, Jim

Controllers 2 and 3 need to use ARS for their outgoing calls, off node IP connection to controller (or node) 1 needs to be in the Facility Group for the type of call you wish to route.

Make sure the remote end points are allowed to use Node 1s PRI trunk group.

Crowtalks,

NTEDave has given you the answer you seek, but let me add a little more information to sweeten the pot as they say. As of 5.1 SP5 there is a new feature which you can read about in the release notes, but I will add it here just so you don't have to go look for it.

1.   ARS restrictions for off-node devices.

(Outgoing Trunk Group Access for Networked outgoing calls)

In Mitel 5000 5.1 SP5 and v6.0 a feature was added to resolve Trunk Group access restrictions.  The following setting will enable or disable the ability for ARS to allow or deny Outgoing calls between nodes based on the extension-s or extension list placed in the Outgoing Access for each trunk group.

This feature is enabled by using OLM with v5.1 SP5 and v6.0, but will be incorporated into a new feature flag for ARS in v7.0.

Example:

Node 1 has four CO Trnk Grps. Each group has the Outgoing Access configured to only allow access to certain extensions.  ARS is set up to route through all CO trunk groups, and of course each phone will skip the CO Trunk Group that it is not allow access to, and will route through one it can access.

Calls from Node 2 routing to Node 1’s trunk groups via ARS are allowed access to all trunk groups even though the trunk groups are denied for specific extensions.

By enabling the OLM flag below this will enable ARS to following Trunk Access and thus allow or deny each extension based on the trunk group access list.

Programming:

Enable OLM -> System Information -> Spare Byte Data 1
1= Enhancement on = this node will check the off-node device details and will allow or restrict depending on the Outgoing Access configuration.

0= Enhancement off = This node will allow all off-node devices access to all of this node's trunk groups, regardless of any Outgoing Access configuration.

Thanks,

TE
