Configuring a Mitel 5312 Phone for SIP
« on: December 11, 2013, 04:55:22 AM »
Let me start by saying that I am completely new to Mitel.

One of our customers has a couple Mitel 5312 phones they want to use as SIP phone.

I reset the configuration to the default settings, changed the phone mode to SIP and enabled the HTTP protocol.
To my understanding I should now be able to configure the phone now using the Web Configuration. However, when I browse to the web page all I get is options to select the language, enter a tftp server address and reboot the phone.

What am I doing wrong?

The phone has firmware 8.0.05.02.01.05 and boot 05.01.00.17

Your half right. Putting the phone into SIP mode simply allows you to tftp over the sip firmware. That you'll have to get from Mitel or from someone on here.

Thanks for your reply. So can anyone here help me get the SIP firmware for a Mitel 5312 phone?
Apparently it can only be obtained through a Mitel reseller, and I doubt they are willing to help since we're not buying anything  :-[

It hasn't been available, or supported, by Mitel for a few years... it is/was available online though. Try starting here and reading this thread: http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,2800.0.html
