We have Mitel 5330 phones. On each phone there is 2 lines selectable using the multicall feature. Now according to the system only one DSS can be programed at once on a particular phone. So for example if the Boss is on line 1 and she gets a call on her second line, her assistant has no way of getting that second call using DSS. Does anyone know away around this. My experience is pretty limited and I am just getting used to IP phone systems.

Interesting - I'd be tempted to try setting up the Boss's buttons as separate extensions - then you could have DSS to both.  I'd use call forward busy to roll the call up to the next line.

That said, compared to these guys, I'm new to this so you may yet get better advice.....

This is just one of the reasons I don't like the multicall feature.
Here's what we do:  delete all appearances of the boss's extension except the prime line.   It then becomes a "single line" as opposed to a "multicall"
Create a second line for the boss of 2+<ext>.   Example:  line one = 3333 ,  line 2 =23333
Forward line one to line two on a busy condition at least for external calls  (I don't like forwarding on a busy for internal calls because I like to put call backs on the line if the user is busy)

Now on the secrataries phone, add line two to her phone.   It will then ring when the boss has more than one call.

the only problem with the rollover line is that it doesn't show any Caller ID or originating extension information.  I try to make outgoing calls by hitting the second line so that if I get a page or another call I know who it is, but i often forget--and that doesn't work for speed dials (or is there a way to do it for them too)?

That happens to be one of my complaints about how the Mitel phones work.   No caller ID on second line.
However, while the phone is ringing you can hit the blue superkey then the ringing line and you should be able to see the caller ID.

I'm not sure what you mean with the speed dials.

hmmm, I'll try that superkey option.

I have a bunch of system wide speed dials entered.  If I dial one, it automatically uses my first line. then if I get another call, I end up with the "can't see caller ID " problem.
