« on: November 08, 2013, 08:47:50 AM »
I'm struggling through trying to get a SIP device configured and working on the 3300/MBG.

I have created the generic SIP device in the 3300, but now im confused as to how the SIP client is configured and what settings i need to add to the MBG SIP device setup

It's MBG, and what exactly don't you understand?

I assume you are trying to make a sip teleworker. You need to enable sip in the configuration section, have a teleworker license and fill in the boxes in the picture. The MBG allows you to use a more secure username and password and will translate it to the internal value. You need to put in both

Yes, I guess so.  I want to be able to use SIP client from Mac/PC from public internet - so this would be a SIP teleworker.

Should I just start with getting internal SIP client working - not sure what settings I need for this?  I'll go back to the drawing board and see if i can get this working first.

Get it working and test first just internally is the wat to go. You will then have half the info for the MBG form.

Good idea to make it work internally first.

Depending on the version of the MCD, i will presume its new ish, you will create a user. device type generic SIP, give it a number and name.
On the access tab under user and device enter a simpish passCODE.

Then in the MBG when you create a SIP teleworker.
It has two sections for passwords. LAN side (internal you just created) and WAN side (Just enter a more secure passCODE)

So in short your SIP client will use the WAN side credencials to authenicate with the MBG and then the MBG will authenticate to the MCD using the LAN side credencials

Sorry for my spelling im a bad typer always in a rush  :o

Hope this helps
