Mitel 3300 ring group help!
« on: June 13, 2012, 08:25:01 AM »
Hi,

Im trying to setup a ring group for a dept. I am struggling as the advertised external number callers will come in on is a users extension that I want in this group. I was just wondering how this works as in if this caller just received a personal call on this ext will it ring the entire group also! Or would i need to move this user to a new number?

Ideally all i want is ext 2441 for calls to come in on that number but to ring all 6 extension in the dept at the same time?

Could someone please talk me through the best way of setting this up?

Thanks in advance.

Change the users extension to a new unused number then create a ring group of 2441 and add all the extensions in the department to the group.

Thanks alot for the reply i think i was just about to do it the bodged way!

I'd moved the ext 2441 to a spare one to free it up. I'd then created a ring group on 6000 and added all the users. Then going back into 2441 details i set CFWD always to 6000, BNI to 600 etc...

Works but not as simple as your solution!

Thanks for your help.

Is it possible to record an announcement prior to these calls hitting the ring group? welcoming callers etc...?
