CLID on 5540 IP console

Good day everyone! I'm thrown in a loop on this problem...

I've got a 5540 IP console registered to an MCD running 7.0 SP1.  Any incoming calls to this console do not show CLID until the call is answered.  Calls to desk phones (5330e) show the CLID on all types of calls (internal, ISDN, XNET)

On the other hand, I've got another MCD with the same release, and same model of console.  But on this system, CLID shows up before and after the call is answered.

For testing, I've imported the COS of the working system into the non-working system, and still, CLID does not show.

There's no errors on the database, but I still did a database backup and restore for the heck of it.

Any ideas?

This is how the console works, it will not present Caller ID information until the call is answered.

MITEL's confirmed this feature has been added on software release 7.0.

With our 7.2 systems, the receptionists can see the CLID before answering the call.

Hmm... interesting. They were specific about the 5540 console and not the MiVoice Business Console (old 5550)? It just seems like a very odd knowing how the console operates with LDNs and the limited display space, and no Mitel console has ever done this, at least not in the 25+ years I have been working on them.

Not doubting that is what they said, just curious to the specifics... it would be easy to add to the MiVBC, but I would think rather difficult on the 5540 but I know a few customers who would love that feature.

Mitel wasn't specific about which console but we were testing on a 5540.  I know we had sites with Nortel Option 11s/61s where clid on the console worked great.  Then when we changed them to the 3300 ICPs version 6.0, the receptionists reported the problem as they were only getting the CLID after they answered the call.  But upgrading them to version 7.2 fixed the issue.

If helps, I had same issue on MiVB 8SP3.

Bizarre, but the solution was  :-

I had emergency routes programmed up on the Mitel, but the consoles did not have the following enabled in their COS :-

Emergency Call Notification - Audio
Emergency Call Notification - Visual

Once enabled, I now get CLID on the consoles in a ringing state.
