Call transfer on Siemens Gigaset
« on: November 15, 2018, 06:19:09 PM »
We have a Siemens Gigaset R650H pro in combination with a N510 IP Pro station. This device is configured as an generic SIP phone.

When you try to transfer a call and nobody on the other end picks up the phone we are unable to get back to the native caller and that the connection to the transferred phone is dropped.

We have tried with FAC "call hold - retrieve" but with this option it does not disconnect the connection with the transferred phone. So you are transferred back to the first line, but the seconds line remains up.

Is there maybe another option possible to get back to the first caller and drop the second one?

You might want to look at SIP Device Capabilities - "Replace System based with Device based In-Call Features". Try toggling it and see what happens.

We did have a customer on our hosted MCD using Gigaset devices but we could never get it working properly - as soon as a call came in on the second line, answering it would cause both external parties to be bridged together, which is somewhat sub-optimal.

Got it working. While the second call is going and the first is on hold you get the option to terminate the call (under options button).

And indeed Dogbreath "Replace System based with Device based In-Call Features" needs to be turned on. Otherwise the "terminate call" option will not be available.

Thank you.
