TDM Gateways
« on: September 06, 2018, 12:00:01 PM »
Is anyone using either Cisco or Adtran for PSTN gateways?
If you are, what models are you using?
Specifically, I'd like to be able to use SIP to the gateway and then select individual channels on the T1.

I think this might be possibly on an Adtran 908e. I would think that you would have to define inound numbers to the sip, and used some sort of leading digits to determine which channel. Each channel would be a distinct trunk group

We have used Adtran TA908 units... Although I don't think it's possible to select a specific channel of the PRI though.

I am curious as to the application that would require this...

If I have the time, I'll see what I can set up on one of my units

Thanks John.  I just ordered a unit off of ebay Friday.
An Adtran TA904.
I had asked Adtran pre-sales support and that's what they recommended.
Should be here Friday.
I'll connect it to my lab system with a T1 and then connect to my Eclipse system via SIP.
We'll see.

Thanks John.
I got the unit yesterday, cleared the passwords and started playing with it.
I think I see a problem right off the bat.

Each channel needs to be immediate start. I need it to route inbound calls on seizure.  Each channel needs to have it's own unique destination.
Then I need it to route outbound calls to each channel but I need to absorb all of the digits and no outpulse anything.

Each channel is used as a two-way ring down.

So far, it doesn't look like I'll be able to do that.

Ralph
