SIP-DECT RFP 35/36 failures?
« on: July 16, 2018, 09:04:38 AM »
Hello all

I hope this is the right forum for this but...

We have recently had fitted lots of RFP 35/36 RFP's on our LAN. These are powered by new Cisco POE switches. We have had lots of RFP's fail, to the point of being unable to get them to power up, they dont draw power at all any more. I do still have plenty of POE power budget to spare so its not that...

Is there a common fault or known issue with these units? Something simple i am missing?

Not getting anywhere fast with the vendor....

Thanks in advance

serverdude500,

Have you tried a PoE injector to see if the device responds to that or not? If it doesn't then most likely the device is bad and if it does then it may mean that the Cisco switch is waiting for a PoE request that it isn't getting; try to manually set the port to provide PoE if you can.

Thanks,

TE
