6900 series phone installation with Phone Manager
« on: April 04, 2018, 01:49:22 PM »
Guys,

How are you settings up your 6900 environments?

1. How is it getting an IP Address? [MiVO-250 or Server or Manual]
2. Do the 6900 series phones come up as Mitel Phone with a Vendor ID 1027?
3. Does LLDP-MED/CDP and IP Helper work with these phones?
4. Do you have to manually configure any settings?

What have you found that works and doesn't work?

Thanks,

TE

Isn't the only option for the 6900 is Mitel Phone Manager integration?

So far in my test lab:
1. Getting IP address from MiVO 250 (had to delete option 43 and change "Client's Vendor Class ID Must Match Name" to No in the IP addresses Ranges)
2. It doesn't appear they show up as Mitel phones (had to disable Clients Vendor Class ID Must Match Name)
3. LLDP-MED does work (using HP switched in test lab)
4. Had to manually input IP address of phone manager server into phone to download SIP firmware and connect. (So far I haven't been able to get option 66 to work on the MiVO 250)

jmarcwsp1,

No, they can be programmed as regular SIP phones too, but then you won't get any of the OAI features. The MCS server is required if you want all of the features associated with OAI integration.

Thanks,

TE

I got them working pretty easily, I first set up a TFTP server on my MSC server hosting the SIP firmware,
I had a router doing DHCP so I set option 128 and option 66 to point at the MCS server to apply the configuration and to get the phones on the SIP firmware.

I think they integrate really well, I really like being able to change your phone manager status via a key on the handset.
