Hello,

I am a complete newb on Mitel systems who absorbed IT tasks 6 months ago for my small company. We have a Mitel 3300 ICP CXi II box with about 65 various IP sets and a few analog lines for alarm and faxes.

I've already had a complete system failure I limped through with some help from a local Mitel service company. I'm familiar with the in's and out's of MCD, but I can barely understand what a lot of the settings do. Currently I have a user who forwarded their IP set to her cellphone using the blue menu button to access the handset forwarding function. The problem is internal extensions forward correctly, but external calls to the forwarded extension are blocked and get the "Non working number" recording from the carrier. This is the case for any extension you try to forward. I've poked around in COS and COR with no solution. As far as I can tell we have no settings in the COR Group form. All 64 rows are blank. Call forwarding internal and external are enabled as well as Public Trunk to Public Trunk in COS.

Any help for a novice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Often this is restricted at the trunk level... Check the Trunk Service COR, the trunk's COR must be able to make the call successfully. We often restrict trunks to the local only COS to prevent possible toll fraud. Also verify the Call Forward External COS option is enabled on the forwarding set's Class of Service.

By the way, you should not have to mess with COR Groups at all, and opening things up too much such as giving the trunks unrestricted access to anything can really open you up to the possibility of toll fraud.

If the far end is hearing a carrier message, it might be trying to pass the original caller's caller id which may not be permitted by the carrier. Just a thought on this issue
