Last user to login
« on: September 21, 2016, 03:28:31 PM »
We recently have found a phone discarded and broken in our office. I have been tasked in finding who broke the phone. All of our users are Hot Desk users, is there any way to track down the last user who logged into this particular phone?

Thanks

Tough one.
Start by going into maintenance commands and enter "logs re mobi new 100"
Then you can look through the software and maintenance logs.
Maybe(emphasis on maybe)you might see something in the logs.

Check the MAC address on the back of the phone.
Now go to your DHCP server and search for that MAC address.
Now you have the IP address.
Check SMDR records looking for that IP address.
This should give you the extension. Double-check IP address matched MAC address in the same record.
(You can search the SMDR for MAC address, but MAC address formatting is all over the place, so IP address is easier).

Vince, you sure about that?
Can you provide an example?  I've never seen an IP address in an SMDR record.

Thanks for the advice. I have been able to find the turned off device by MAC address in the All IP telephones, but unfortunately the IP address had already disappeared. However, I was able to locate its device number. With this I was able to get some extra info in Device Connectivity - All. Particularly the Last known STP Port Identifier. Now to figure which of the 6 switches that port belonged to.

Sorry, my bad - I meant the Voice Quality Statistics form - lots of good info on there.

Vince,
I never thought of using the VQ logs like that.
Learned something new.
Thanks.
