calling number doesn't ring to phone
« on: May 11, 2016, 03:48:37 PM »
So I have two phone numbers that don't appear to be working.  If you call them, they have a standard ring, but not a double ring that you usually get when hitting my 3300 from the PRI.  I do a CCS trace and I see the calling number and the  number that I dialed.  I look in the DID service form and the number is in there like any other number.  Account looks fine and internal dialing works fine.

What can be stopping these two numbers from coming in?

Also if I do a State 7 1 2 1 to see the channels of my PRI, I don't see anymore become active when I try calling the number.  But as I referenced above CCS trace is seeing it?  Do the channels not become active until the call is built and active?

Thetre is a COS setting that will change a double short external ring signal in to a single internal ring signal.

So in your CCS trace you see your dial out.  The record with have "RO" in it.
For the incoming record it will have a "RI" in it.  (If you call from your cell phone will not have to worry about seeing the "RO" record.

Are you seeing the "RI"?
If not, call your carrier.
If yes, check for number conflicts.
Then check to be sure your COS, call rerouting, tenant, interconnect restrictions are all set the same.
If you don't see anything then it may be easier to call the carrier and ask them what they see when you call in.

You can also do

EDT TRACE TSP L2L3 <PLID of PRI>

And dial the DID number, you can see what is essentially the D-channel messages to see if your call is getting to the Mitel.

Remember to execute the command again to stop the output.

I do see the IR, did the other trace suggested as well. all looks fine.

So in an effort to get something going, I was assigning them new numbers, went into DID service form to try to forward the old number to the new one and see if would forward at least.  Well the Ext number was then the new number.  strange, so put back to normal, went back to the original number and now it works.  LOL strange.

Working now though.  Thank you both for the suggestions.

I've had two of those this week.
1. Hotdesk user keys all disappeared. I deleted them on the controller end and recreated them and all good.
2. Hotdesk user couldn't log out because the system said she was logged in. (Which is stupid, because if she was it would have happily logged her out from whe3erever she was logged in). Loc feat ext nnnn confirmed she wasn't logged in anywhere. Busy reset nnnn completed successfully and then it happily let her log it in.
