Distributing calls between ring groups
« on: February 19, 2018, 02:43:57 AM »
I've had an interesting request from a client and I'm not quite sure how to configure this in their Mitel system, hoping somebody can help:
- Client has 4 groups / teams
- They want the incoming calls to be distributed to each team in a circular fashion
- If the team does not answer in time, the call should move on to the next team

I've had a go at configuring this, however MiVB doesn't allow you to add a ring group into a hunt group, or add a ring group into a ring group, or add a multicall line into a ring group.

As an added bonus, they're on a very old version which doesn't have circular cascade ring groups yet, so if the solution doesn't require this then even better.

Any ideas on how to configure this?

Thanks.

1 - create 4 groups
2 - DID speed call to the 1st group
3 - in the first group put the the DN of the second group in the interflow field.
4- in the second group put in the interflow field the 3th group .........

Thanks for the reply.

I've worked out that much to get the overflow working, the main problem is having the incoming calls evenly distributed among the groups when they come in, instead of ringing to the same group first all the time.

Is there not an option to make ring/hunt groups start at the next group after the one that last answered; can't remember what its called offhand?

What is the actual level of software?

A cheap and dirty method would be to create 4 phantom extensions, one for each group (2001-2004 for instance), and place a multicall key on each phone for the number for it's group, then put the 4 phantoms in a circular hunt group. CFNA each phantom to the next phantom (2001 CFNA to 2002, 2002 CFNA to 2003, etc) Point the DID to the hunt group, first call rings phones in group 1, second call rings phones in group 2, etc.

Many ways to accomplish the same task... All depends what you really need... And I hate ACD so I try to avoid it unless necessary. :)

Thanks acejavelin, I'll have a play with phantom extensions and see how I go.
