Monitor SIP trunk usage
« on: December 23, 2014, 05:12:02 AM »
Hi,

I know you can use the SIP SHOW ACTIVE ALL command to display the number of SIP trunks being used, but is there a way to look  back say over a month and view the history?  I'm looking for this information because we currently have 20 trunks and we are about to open another site, so just want to make sure that we aren't currently pushing the limit at certain times of the week/day.

Thanks and Merry Christmas  :)

I don't know of any reports like that.
Perhaps you may be able to check your SMDR logs.
It may have call records going back a month.
You might also call your carrier and ask them if they have something that will show traffic.

Hi Ralph,

I don't think we have SMDR turned on but I will speak to our SIP providers, that is as good a place as any to start :)

Thanks

Mitel bought Martello and offers their MarWatch product which provides trunk utilization stats for an hour or a year and everything in between.  For digital trunks, MarWatch monitors the MCD and for SIP trunks you would monitor the MBG.
