Generic SIP MWI
« on: November 05, 2014, 07:52:59 PM »
MXe 13.0.1.28
My first Generic SIP device endpoint install. Anyone able to light msg button for VM msgs? I have embedded VM w/Linksys SPA942 endpoints. Trying via *33 & #33 dialed from 53xx. Creating a MWI button on SPA942 in DB didn't help. Put MWI button for SIP DN on 53xx and it does light, but I need the SPA942 to light somehow.

Check the 'SIP Device Capabilities' form that the phones belong to. MWI is not enabled by default I believe.

The only MWI option I see is "Allow MWI Notification without Subscription", which I changed to yes. Still no MWI using #33. I then called the SIP DN (x1010) from a 53xx and pressed the msg envelope button which lights the MWI 1010 key on x1001 (5330) and the SPA942. Now I can't make it turn off. Even the MWI 1010 key on x1001 stays lit when I dial #331010.

update: after initiating a return call from the MWI 1010 button and answering it, the MWI light on x1010 went out. Then I retested, and now the MWI codes are working!!
