Remove option for Speak@ease
« on: October 28, 2014, 09:14:54 AM »
System: 3300 MXe Controller. SX2000 Cabinets.  SuperSet 420 and 4025.

I have some new users and they are easily confused.  In the quest to build a bigger idiot, I was wondering if there is a way to remove the Speak@Ease option when using the Phonebook.

When a user presses the Phonebook Softkey, they can enter the name of a user in the directory using the keys on their keypad.  Howerver the phonebook softkey turns to a speak@ease key.  It is currently not programmed on our system.   This is fine, but is there a way of removing this softkey when opening the phonebook?

It's in COS.  Option is "Voice Dial Preferred".  Or "Speak@ease Preferred".

I checked my own COS number.  The options are:

  • Speak@Ease Preferred = no
  • Voice Dial Preferred is not listed

Is there a way to get rid of the option entirely? Speak@ease is already not set as preferred.

I thought that was the way to remove it, via COS.
I don't have your version of software to test with so I'm afraid I won't be of much help here.

I just turned it to on. "speak@ease preferred"  The softkey turned from a Phonebook to a Speak@ease when the keyset is idle.  I don't have  voice dial as an option.

Perhaps I'll just update my new hire training documents, noting not to use it.
